Modern art can range from anything. In this category the viewer will be able to observe the kind of art (in Oils) that shows best in the minimalistic or office environment. You won't see much in here at the moment but preliminarily my mind is conjuring up a triptych approach. That is works painted as a three panel set. Mainly painted across the surface of box canvas panels: these pieces will require no frames and simply rest flat upon the wall surface. There will also be single box canvas abstract/surreal paintings produced as well.
As far as subject matter is concerned for these types of paintings: well that can vary according to what the imagination conjures up which I'm sure you understand can amount to literally anything. The style of art produced will be verging toward the 'surreal' or 'abstract' with elements of 'realism' thrown in.
The appealing factor for me is really the 'mix and match' of ideas or 'intentional objects' and putting them on canvas in a myriad of different ways. Although I like traditional painting I feel that some people want something more diverse, different, and more 'now' in their spaces. Enjoy your viewing of these modern paintings about to be produced, some of them may even make you think.

VEINS OF A LEAF.
Cat: No 28
Oil on professional box canvas.
size: 20" X 24" (inches)
Descript: Each Cell of this veined leaf has been hand painted in with fine brush (a stipple dot in each). The edges of the 2" deep box canvas has also been painted the same way. This piece of painting almost drove me dotty applying it. I can imagine how George Seurat must have felt with his stipilist works.
